Raymond Howard Sweno

Raymond Sweno died Monday, April 14, 2003 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 79.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan.  Rev. Wayne Anderson will officiate and interment will be at Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Raymond Howard Sweno was born November 30, 1923 at Milan, MN the son of Albert and Dorothea (Johnson) Sweno.  He was baptized and confirmed at Kviteseid Lutheran Church May 8, 1938 and graduated form Milan High School in 1943.  He served his country in the US Air Force during WW II.  Ray was united in marriage with Clarice Bartz August 26, 1951 at Schible Lutheran Church.  They made their home in Milan and he worked as a plumber.  He was member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing and doing carpentry work.

He is survived by his wife, Clarice; two sons: Gary Sweno and Mark Sweno both of Milan, MN; four grandchildren: Kelly Farrand, Kristin Sweno, Jessica Sweno, and Derick Sweno; one great-grandchild, Kara Farrand; and two sisters: Dorothy Arndt of Moorhead, MN and Doris Struxness of Appleton, MN.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Roger Sweno; and one sister, Bernice Wagner.
