Renetta (Naab) Eggert

May 14, 1918 — April 13, 2015

Renetta Eggert, of Dawson, died Monday, April 13, 2015 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 96.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Baxter with Rev. Willie Rosin officiating.  Interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:45 PM.

Renetta Gardenia Johanna (Naab) Eggert was born May 14, 1918 in Posen Township, Yellow Medicine County, MN the daughter of Frank and Clara (Zimmer) Naab.  She was baptized and confirmed at Posen Lutheran Church.  Renetta attended rural school and grew up in the Echo / Wood Lake area.  She worked as the hired girl for several families in the area.  Renetta was united in marriage with Fred Eggert October 12, 1941 in Ottertail County.  They moved to the Boyd area in 1953.  She worked on the farm with her husband.  They retired from farming in 1973 and moved into Boyd.  Fred died February 20, 1986.  She moved into Dawson in the early 2000's and later to the Johnson Memorial Home.  Renetta and Fred loved to dance.

She is survived by her children: Inez Bjerkeset of Dawson, MN, David Eggert of Bertha, MN, Valerie Eggert of Lenexa, KS, and Ernest (Judi) Eggert of Boyd, MN; twelve grandchildren: Lance (Roberta) Bjerkeset, Loren (Kami) Bjerkeset, Lori McKnight (Justin Grewe), Christopher Eggert, Kenneth (Missy) Eggert, Darrin (Nikki) Eggert, Melissa (Chris) Arfstrom, John (Silvia) Tompkins, Teresa Petersen, Carla (Keith) Hartneck, Amanda (Amanda Zenoby) Eggert, and Amy (Kevin) Cerny; 36 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and a sister-in-law, Donna Naab of Glencoe, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Fred; a son, Robert; a granddaughter, Linda Bjerkeset; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Eggert; a brother, Milton Naab; and two sisters: Mildred Andel and Bertina Dittwiler.
