Rhoda Minnie (Quenemoen) Vellekson

March 13, 1903 — July 19, 1998

Rhoda Minnie Quenemoen, daughter of Oscar and Julia (Krugerud) Quenemoen was born March 13, 1903, in Cerro Gordo Township, Lac Qui Parle County, MN.  She was baptized and confirmed at Lac Qui Parle Lutheran Church, rural Dawson.
Rhoda was united in marriage to Carl Amundson on February 23, 1924.  To this union 3 children were born.  They farmed in Cerro Gordo Township until Carl's death on March 19, 1938.
In June 1950, Rhoda was united in marriage to Louis Vellekson.  They farmed near Watson, MN, until Louis's death in 1984.  Since that time Rhoda has resided in Dawson, the last 3 years at Johnson Memorial Home.  She remained there until her death on Sunday, July 19, 1998, at the age of 95 years, 4 months, and 6 days.
Rhoda was a member of the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Baxter Twp.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, crafts of all kinds, and was a good neighbor and friend.
Rhoda is survived by two children: Lorraine (Willard) Swain of Garden Grove, CA, and Virgil (Arlys) Amundson of Dawson; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Omar Quenemoen of Dawson; five sisters: Mabel Gruchow of Montevideo, Glenda Dvergsten of Watson, Juella (Arnold) Johnson of Madison, Josie Lindquist and DeLaine (Lloyd) Lundy of Dawson; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Carl Amundson and Louis Vellekson; son, Virgil Amundson; four brothers: Martin, Henry, Lester, and Russell Quenemoen; and two sisters: Lillian and Josie Quenemoen.
