Richard Birhanzl, of Watson, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at his home at the age of 56. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Paul Idstrom will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Richard Edward Birhanzl was born January 28, 1952 at Montevideo, MN the son of Edward and Opal (Augeson) Birhanzl. He was baptized February 27, 1952 and confirmed May 14, 1967 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He attended school in Maynard. Richard worked at the Watson Elevator for many years. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, playing cards, grilling, watching nature, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by two sons: Troy Birhanzl and his wife Laurie of Moose Lake, MN and Steven Birhanzl of Montevideo, MN. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters: Ginger Winters and Alice Holte; one brother-in-law, Bob Winters; and numerous aunts and uncles.
