Richard "Dick" Frederickson

July 17, 1946 — October 31, 2014

Richard Frederickson, of Granite Falls, MN, died on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar at the age of 68.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.   Rev. Steven Carmany will officiate services.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home.

Richard Dean Frederickson was born July 17, 1946 at Dawson, MN.  He graduated  from Boyd High School in 1964.  He entered the ministry program at Concordia in the Cities and completed his training at the Vo-tech in Pipestone, MN graduating valedictorian in 1969 with a diploma in Food Retail Management.  Dick was married to Peggy (Staley) Frederickson June 7, 1970 in Viborg, SD and to this union three children were born: Matthew, Tammy, and Diana.  Dick was united in marriage with Barbara (Long) Cook on December 2, 1993 at Paxton, IL and to this union he gained a son, John Cook.  He had different occupations but had a passion for the jobs that required talking to people which he did very well.  He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, going to movies, and wearing his many “Elmer Fudd” hats when it was cold.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and had a special love for his cat, Spicy.  Dick had a sweet tooth and could be found impatiently waiting for cookies or chocolate cake to come out of the oven.

He is survived by his wife: Barb of Granite Falls; his children: Matthew (Ruth) Frederickson, Tammy Frederickson, Diana (Brett) Hammer, and John (Sarah) Cook; seven grandchildren: Keaunna, Cherish, Brayton, Eric, Lilly, John Jr., and Won; brothers: Robert, John and Jeff Frederickson; sisters: Cheryl Christenson and Pamela Watson; as well as by nieces and nephews, especially, Sam.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
