Richard R. Kiroff, of Montevideo, died on Saturday April 8, 2006 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 81.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday April 11, 2006 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Rev. Kurt Hoover will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday after 4 PM and with the family from 6 - 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Richard Ronald Kiroff was born November 30, 1924 the son of Mike and Minnie (Wolff) Kiroff. He was a lifelong resident of Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1942. Dick served in the Navy Seabees in the South Pacific from December 11, 1942 until February 6, 1946. He was united in marriage with Beverly Frederickson September 27, 1946 in Granite Falls, MN. He was a building contractor and carpenter in Montevideo and later operated Kiroff Construction with his son Rick. Dick enjoyed remodeling houses and the detail work in carpentry. He loved winning at cards and traveling to visit his family and attend Seabee reunions. He did his crossword puzzles in ink daily. Dick had been living at Brookside Manor where he served on the Residence Council and enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, and having coffee with “the guys”.
He is survived by three daughters: Constance Bovee and her husband Robert of Macungie, PA, Barbara Ebers of Jacksonville, FL, and Katherine Slocum and her husband Randall of Gilbert, IA; daughter-in-law, Victoria Kiroff of Montevideo, MN; son-in-law, Nathan Miles of Duncanville, TX; six grandchildren: Stephanie (Daniel Anixt) Bovee, Elizabeth (Steve) Carrera, Rachel (Paul) Knutson, April (Adam) Thornton, Amy Kiroff, and Allison (Daniel) Delf; three great-grandchildren: Connor Carrera and William and Ethan Thornton; one sister, Patricia Anderson and her husband Arden of Montevideo, MN; one brother-in-law, Clyde Hanna of Dighton, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Beverly in 1969; four children: Richard F. in 1998, Janis Miles in 2005, and two daughters in infancy; and one sister, Irene.
