Richard McKesson, of Dawson, died March 16, 2013 at his home at the age of 47.
Memorial service was on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating: pianist was Mary Helgeson who accompanied the congregational hymn “Amazing Grace”; scripture lessons were; Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 11, Psalm 90:14, Psalm 91:1,2,4,11; honorary urn bearers were Ryc and Cody McKesson and the active urn bearerer was Mike McKesson.
There was a also a Memorial Service in Colorado Springs, CO.
Richard Walter McKesson was born May 2, 1965 at El Paso, TX the son of James and Margaret “Jane” (Graves) McKesson. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1982. Rick was united in marriage with Tamara Helgeson September 26, 1997 at Peyton, CO. He spent most of his life in Colorado Springs but moved to Dawson in 2007 to be around his children. He currently was working as a bus driver in Dawson. Rick loved camping and boating with his friends and children. He also enjoyed working on cars and his boat.
He is survived by his children: Ryc and Cody McKesson and their mother Tamara; his step-daughter, Larisa (Brett) Stratmoen and their children: Brock and Dane; his mother, Jane McKesson of Colorado Springs, CO; his father, James (Lorene) McKesson of Denver, CO; two brothers: Michael (Julie) McKesson of High Lands Ranch, CO and Steve (Britta) McKesson of Carlsbad, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents: Albertina and Walter Graves and paternal grandparents: F.K. and Margarett McKesson.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up at the Dawson Credit Union in Dawson, MN for the benefit of Ryc and Cody McKesson.
