Richard (Rick) Oleson was born March 7, 1955, in Watertown, South Dakota, to Darrell and LaVonne (Christianson) Oleson. He was baptized in Watertown, SD, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. He attended and in 1973 graduated from Owatonna High School.
He was united in marriage to Debra Maloney. Rick worked for National Tree Company, Commonwealth Associates, and for the last 20 years he worked for Ottertail Power Company as a service representative in the cities of Hallock, Canby, and Dawson.
Rick was active within the Dawson community serving on Dawson Development, Chamber of Commerce, EDA Board, Dawson Fire Department, and Library building committee. Some of his spare time was spent fishing, hunting, and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Debra, of Dawson; daughters: Maigen Oleson of Kasson, MN, and Angela and Lindsey Oleson of Dawson; parents: Darrell and LaVonne Oleson of Owatonna; mother-in-law, Rose Ann Maloney of Alexandria, MN; brother, Randy Oleson of Owatonna; sisters: Deb (Jurgen) Duhr of Clinton, IA, Tammy (Tom) Harvor of Blooming Prairie, MN, Lori (Brian) Markham of Medford, MN, and Jill Dahl of Owatonna; and other family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law, Gene Maloney.
