Richard Saue

July 4, 1939 — August 16, 2015

Richard Saue, of Montevideo, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his home in Montevideo at the age of 76.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:30.  Visitation will also be held for one hour before the services at the church.

Richard Dean Saue was born July 4, 1939 at Montevideo, MN the son of Clifford and Avanell (Anderson) Saue.  He was baptized September 17, 1939 and confirmed May 31, 1953 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  He attended school in Montevideo and then worked at Swift and Co.   Richard was united in marriage with Gloria Fousek on January 31, 1959 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Following their marriage Richard and Gloria welcomed Gloria’s sister, Judy Fousek to live with them until her high school graduation in 1964.

Richard was an Oak Grove milk distributer and then a co-owner of Monte Tire until his retirement.  His main focus was family and he enjoyed  attending his grandchildren’s events.  He was known for taking care of and having great pride in his yard.  Richard enjoyed golfing (he had 2 hole in ones), bicycling, gardening and cars.  He was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; three children: Carrie (and Chuck) Grussing of Alexandria, MN, Lynn (and Mark) Allickson of Montevideo, MN, and Tom (and Tina) Saue of Montevideo, MN; nine grandchildren: Jacob (Cara) Grussing, Mitchell Grussing, Joseph Grussing, Bryce Allickson, Brian Allickson, Gretchen Allickson, Ashley (Derick) Sweno, Jared Saue, and Kamren Saue; five great-grandchildren: Jonah, Norah, Brooke, Devin, and Collin; four sisters: Shirley Sundlee of Willmar, Carol (George) Waters of Montevideo, Janice (Doug) Boike of Clara City, and Karen (Gary) Voss of Marshall; uncle, Gerald (Pat) Anderson; and aunts: Vivian Anderson, Catherine Anderson, and Phyllis Anderson.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Dale Saue; two sisters: Gail Saue in infancy and Sharon Jensen; a brother-in-law, Merrill Sundlee; and nephews: Mark and Larry Sundlee.
