Richard Unger died Friday, November 3, 2017 at his home in Montevideo at the age of 70.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First Congregational Church of Christ in Montevideo. Cody Maynus will officiate and burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday starting at 10:00 AM.
Richard Michael Unger was born on August 30th, 1947 to Raymond and Loyola Unger. Richard was a lifelong Montevideo resident and passed away last week in his home from a natural cause. Richard was a graduate of Montevideo Sr High School in 1965. He received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota before completing his education at Hamline University receiving a Juris Doctor in 1980. Richard owned and operated Unger’s Furniture in Montevideo, MN as well as his own Legal Practice.
Richard was a beloved father and friend who loved to talk to everyone. Richard was extremely passionate about the environment, individual rights and helping people. Richard had a lifelong love for the outdoors, biking, canoeing, traveling and nature, which he passed on to his children.
He is survived by his two children: Michael Joseph Unger and Christine Lee Unger. He was preceded in death by his parents.
