Rick Thomas Cushman

Rick Cushman, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday July 4, 1995 at the University of  Minnesota Hospitals at the age of 35.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday July 8, 1995 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Alvin G. Lewis, Jr. officiating.  Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Ricky Thomas Cushman was born on February 5, 1960 in Montevideo, Minnesota to Dennis and Joan (Gjerset) Cushman.  He was baptized at Watson Lutheran Church in Watson and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.   He attended Montevideo Public Schools and was active on the Debate Team.  He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1978.  He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1983 with a degree in business.  He worked for Dain/Bosworth and Farmers Home Insurance for several years, and has worked as a cost accountant at American National Can for the past 5 years.  He did counseling for Christian Counseling Service and worked with the Archdiocese with support groups.  He liked to plant flowers, spend time at the lake, and spent much time praying for others..

He is survived by his parents - Dennis and Joan Cushman of Montevideo; by a brother - Tim Cushman and his wife Kathy of Sioux Falls, SD; by a sister - Lori Knutson and her husband Randy of Montevideo; by a grandmother - Lillian Gjerset of Montevideo; as well as by 6 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather - Oscar Gjerset; and by grandparents - Ralph & Mabel Cushman.
