Robert Carlson, of Madison, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Madison Hospital at the age of 72.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan. Rev. Kristine Isder will officiate and interment will at Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for one hour before the services on Friday.
Robert Theodore Carlson was born February 8, 1942 at Milan, MN the son of Emil and Signe (Smith) Carlson. He attended school in Milan. Robert was united in marriage with Mary Kittelson. They made their home in Madison. He worked at Municipal Castings for 32 years and at Field Crest Fertilizer for 5 years. He was currently enjoying his retirement with his wife of 52 years. Robert enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandkids. He liked to work on cars, collecting junk, and working with metal.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; four children: Greg (Dina) Carlson of Madison, MN and their children: Katie, Laura, and Jesse; Marsha (Chris) Thompson of Clarkfield, MN and their children: Christina, Amber, and Conrad; Betty (Bruce) Dienger of St. Charles, MN, and Ronald (Melissa) Carlson of Madison, MN and their children: Justin, Ashley, and Brandy; a sister, Ann Olson of Montevideo, MN; and nieces and nephews: Larry and Merlin Olson of Watson, MN and Linda, Shirley, Arlen, and Kevin Olson of Montevideo, MN.
Preceding him in death by his parents; a sister, Elsie; an uncle and aunt: Otto and Ellen Engebretson; and brothers-in-law: Vernon and Allen Kittelson.
