Robert Eriksen, 80, of Montevideo died March 7, 1999 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 11, 1999 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Warren Broughton and Rev. Douglas Olson will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and with the family from 6-8:00 P.M.
Robert Franklin Eriksen was born December 2, 1918 at Montevideo, MN the son of Emil and Betsy (Ringsby) Eriksen. He was baptized at Saron Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Robert was united in marriage with Mae Johnson February 16, 1951 at First English Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. They farmed near Montevideo before moving into town in 1959. He worked as a plumber for Winlsow’s and Molde’s until 1982 when he became the maintenance man at Brookside Manor. Robert retired in 1992. He loved nature, golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his granddaughters. He served as a Trustee and on the Properties Board at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mae; one daughter, Linda Seeley of Montevideo; two granddaughters: Melissa Seeley and Lisa Seeley; and one sister, Solveig Stuber of Minneapolis, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son-in-law, Michael Seeley; three brothers: Eldor Eriksen, Erling Eriksen, and Olaf Eriksen; and two sisters: Esther Peterson and Mabel Rodeberg.
