Robert F. Hagen, of Clinton died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 3 days.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, Minnesota. Interment will be at the Clinton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Robert Floyd Hagen was born on November 22, 1930 to Everett and Martha (Weinman) Hagen in Malta Township, Big Stone County. He was the oldest of seven children. Robert grew up on a farm and worked in the construction trades all his life. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Stevens in the Spring of 1970. To this union three children were born: Robert Jr., James, and Caralee.
Robert enjoyed hunting, playing cards, rolling dice and softball. By far his biggest passion, which he passed on to his children, was his love of fishing. Robert could be found most often fishing the waters of Big Stone Lake at anytime of the year. Family remembers that not only was fishing a passion but that Robert was a very accomplished fisherman.
Robert is survived by his children: Robert Hagen Jr., Brainerd, MN, Jim Hagen, Willmar, MN, and Caralee (John) Mader, Montevideo; six grandchildren: Victoria “Tori” Hagen, Olivia Hagen, Chase and Seth Hagen, Hunter Wall and Jack Hagen; brothers: Darrel Hagen, Dennis Hagen, Charles Hagen and Arnold Hagen; sisters: Lois Jensen and Glennis Pomerenke; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
