Robert Oliver Knutson

Robert Knutson died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at his home in rural Montevideo, MN at the age of 79.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 1:30 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M.

Robert Oliver Knutson was born June 22, 1924 at Langdon, ND the son of Julius and Ida (Tweeter) Knutson.  He was baptized in Langdon, ND and confirmed at Strombeck Lutheran Church near Montevideo, MN on June 26, 1938.  He moved to Montevideo with his family in 1933.  Robert attended school in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1942.  He worked as a farmer his entire life.  Robert enjoyed the outdoors and visiting with family.  He also enjoyed farming and planting trees.  He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

He is survived by Mary; one sister, Ella Gulden of Round Lake, MN and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers: Julian and Lyle Knutson; five sisters: Ruby Lee, Fern Kitchin, his twin Maxine Griesmeyer, Bernice Knutson, and Vera Johnson Mitlyng.
