Robert Siverhus

November 10, 1927 — March 24, 2013

Robert “Bob” Siverhus, of Montevideo, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be held  on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Tim Ehling will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home from 5-7:00 PM and at the church for one hour before the service.

Robert Julian Siverhus was born November 10, 1927 in Montevideo, MN the son of Alvin and Caroline (Johnson) Siverhus. Bob was baptized March 2, 1928 and confirmed December 12, 1954.  He attended school in Montevideo and was united in marriage with Mavis Colston in 1945.  They made their home in Montevideo and he was a route driver for Twin City Bakery until he retired in 1990.  Bob also drove gravel truck for Crosby Construction for a few years.  He was united in marriage with Betty Larson January 9, 1994 in Las Vegas.  Bob enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, wood working, gardening, playing cards and dancing.  He was a Sunday School teacher and also sang in the choir.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his children: Karen (Wayne) Fjerkenstad of Mesa, AZ, Gary (Barb) Siverhus of Victoria, MN, Becky (David) Bagaus of Mesa, AZ, and Kevin (Tara) Siverhus of Belton, MO; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; Betty’s children: Larry (Sandy) Larson of Rapid City, SD, Randy Larson of Dawson, MN, Dallas (Jan) Larson of Cannon Falls, MN, Cindy (Mark) Larson of Crystal, MN, Scott (Wendy) Larson of Clarkfield, MN, Julie (Larry) Suchanek of Montevideo, MN, and Mike (Kim) Larson of Cottage Grove, MN; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Siverhus of Mora, MN; and two sisters: Gloria Hendrickson of Montevideo, MN and Sharon Satre of Clara City, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Mavis in February of 1991; and a sister, Darlene.
