Robert "Bob" Torgerson, of Starbuck, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home in Starbuck at the age of 92. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Watson Lutheran Church in Watson. Rev. Larry Olson will officiate and interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the services on Saturday. Robert Torgerson was born April 7, 1920 at Montevideo, MN the son of Aane and Delores (Russell) Torgerson. He graduated from Montevideo Senior High in 1939 and served in the US Army during WW II. Bob was united in marriage with Virginia Volden August 15, 1943 in California. After his discharge from the Army, they moved back to Watson where he worked at Iverson Garage. They later moved to the Cities and he was a mechanic for a heavy construction company. He retired in 1985 and they moved to Starbuck in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; four children: Trish, Barb, Ron, and Mary Jo (Denny); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and three brothers: David, Paul, and Lowell.
