While in high school, Bob worked the family farm. As a young man growing up in Selby, he was also employed driving truck delivering eggs and cream from local farms to Lemburg’s Selby Produce. His truck driving career lasted over 40 years. In addition to driving independently for a time, he was employed by Dawson Mills (now AGP); Raymond Cossette of Fargo, ND; Anderson Trucking Service of St. Cloud, MN; and most recently Buesing Bulk Transport of Long Lake, MN, where he took pride in being the number one driver for several years. A careful driver, he was accident free for many years. He retired from trucking in January of 2004.
Bob was known for being good-humored. He lived a good life and enjoyed many years of camping and fishing, being with family and playing cards-Buck was a favorite game. He and Betty wintered in Texas for 8 years and spent lots of time in the summer in the Selby and Mobridge area. He had a great fondness for old cars and happy hour on the patio. He was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. He also greatly appreciated the simple pleasure of shaking dice and having coffee with friends. He will be missed.
Blessed be his memory.
