Roger Allen Andresen was born in Montevideo on November 16, 1943, to Martin and Dorothy (Sietsema) Andresen. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. He graduated from Clara City High School in 1961. Roger served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He married Jane Mills in September of 1966, in Montevideo. Together they moved to the Richfield/Bloomington area and had two children: Stephanie and Michael. Before moving back to Montevideo in 1979, Roger had a roofing business in Bloomington Minnesota. He then went on to farm in Montevideo until retirement in 2011.
When Roger was not farming, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing and playing cards. He later transitioned his farming focus to vegetable gardening at home, and all things involving his 4 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Roger and Jane loved to travel. This included visiting all 50 states and many ocean cruises, which found them exploring other countries, as well. One of their favorite vacations was a cruise in the South Pacific. Family was very important to Roger. He enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s events and activities.
Roger is survived by his wife, Jane; children and grandchildren: Stephanie (Jason) Noble, Alexis, Xavier, and Griffen of Clara City; Michael (Tifany) Andresen, and Ethan of Montevideo; sisters: Delores Ostroviak, Lester Prairie, MN; Darlene Andresen, Fargo, ND; Monica (Tim) Bauer, Sioux Falls, SD; Gloria Andresen, Eden Prairie, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Dorothy Andresen; mother/father-in-law, Florence and Lee Mills; sister-in-law, Margaret Norman; and brothers-in-law, Robert Mills, Bruce Johnson and Phil Ostroviak.
