Roger Leonard Mork

August 16, 1939 — April 5, 2004

Montevideo

Roger Mork, of rural Montevideo, died on April 5, 2004 at his home due to a farming accident at the age of 64.

Memorial services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan, MN with Rev. Trevor Bailey officiating.

Visitation will be with the family on Monday from 6:30 - 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Roger Leonard Mork was born August 16, 1939 at Madison, MN the son of Leonard and Leila (Friedrichs) Mork.  He was baptized October 22, 1950 at the Madison Parsonage and confirmed in April of 1953 at First Lutheran Church in Madison, MN.  Roger graduated from Madison High School in 1957 and served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1961.  He was united in marriage October 16, 1965 with Beverly Joy Hansen.  They lived in Savage, MN for 3 years before moving to Glencoe, MN where he started Mork Communications.  They moved to rural Milan in 1979 where he farmed and ran Mork Communications.  He was a member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan and the American Legion Post in Montevideo.  Roger enjoyed traveling, boating and fishing, his motorcycle, farming and specialty bailing, snowmobiling, and hunting.

He is survived by three children: Erin Fischer of Alexandria, MN, Eric Mork of Minneapolis, MN, and Ethan Mork and his wife Kim of Arlington, MN; five grandchildren: Matthew (18), Melissa, (15) Nicholas (14), Kathryn (12), and David (9) Fischer; his father, Leonard Mork of Gary, SD; two brothers: Alan (Joan) Mork of Louisberg, MN and Bradley (Janet) Mork of Colorado Springs, CO; four sisters: Diane Stegemann of Boise, ID, Linda (Ron) Spies of Fairbault, MN, Peggy (Gayle) Kenney of Burien, WA, and Sandy (Henry) Hocraffer of Rochester, MN; one brother-in-law, Lowell C. Boehnke of Bellingham, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Leila; his former wife, Beverly; and two sisters: Maxine Boehnke and Julie McCarty.
