Roger Roberts, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at his daughter’s home in Woodbury, MN at the age of 68. Visitation will be Thursday August 9,2007 from 3 - 5 PM with a prayer service at 4:30 P.M. with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Interment will be on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 11:30 A.M. in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Roger Harold Roberts was born on August 16, 1938 in Ladysmith, WI to Harold and Emily (Drumm) Roberts. He grew up in Chippewa Falls, WI, where he was baptized and confirmed. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School before entering the US Navy. Following his discharge he was united in marriage to Carol Anderson. He lived in Minneapolis and Annandale, MN before moving to Montevideo in 1979. He moved to live with a daughter in Woodbury, MN about seven months ago. He worked at Moduline and Friendship Homes in Montevideo for many years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
He is survived by his children: Becky Norman and her husband Rick of Montevideo, MN; Julie Alsum and her husband Chad of Woodbury, MN; and Rodney Roberts and his wife Lisa of Montevideo, MN; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Sam Roberts of Chippewa Falls, WI; 2 sisters: Joyann Springer of Phoenix, AZ and Lynne Swevoda of Chippewa Falls, WI, as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jane Marie Roberts and an infant son Rod Harold Roberts.
