Roland “Rolly” Stone, of rural Montevideo, died on Thursday, March 21, 2002 at the age of 44.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Baxter with Rev. Steve Rheingans officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Roland DeWayne Stone was born on February 8, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN to Ronald and Stina (Peterson) Stone. He was baptized and confirmed at Redeemers Lutheran Church in Boyd, MN and graduated from Dawson-Boyd High School in 1976. He was united in marriage to Brenda Miller on August 8, 1981 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. To this union were born 2 children, Dustin and Ariel. He worked for Moduline, AMPI, Peterson Electric and has been employed for the past 9 years at DJ’s Champion Auto Sports. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; children: Dustin and Ariel; his parents: Ronald and Stina Stone of Montevideo, MN; two brothers: Randy Stone and his wife Rhonda of Marianna, FL and Jamie Stone of Dell Rapids, SD; one sister, Alana Ratz and her husband Tim of Clarkfield, MN and nephews: Alton Stone and Adam and Isaiah Ratz; two aunts; three great-aunts; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and two uncles.
