Ronald Sawatzke

Ronald Sawatzke, of Boyd, died Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 74.

Arrangements are pending with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

Ronald Melvin Sawatzke was born November 30, 1944 in Sandstone, MN the son of Alfred and Theresa (Klein) Sawatzke.  He graduated from Sandstone High School in 1962.  Ron was united in marriage with Beverly Wyandt and later with Neila Werner.  He worked as an over the road truck driver.  Ron moved to Boyd in 1983.  He loved woodworking and made toys, cedar chests, and jewelry boxes.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelly (Dave) Goodman of Lone Tree, CO; a son, Doug Sawatzke of Finlayson, MN; a step-daughter, Heidi (Jerrie) LaPage of Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his beloved dog, JoJo; and extended family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Todd Sawatzke; a brother, Harold Sawatzke; and two sisters: Florence Sawatzke and Evelyn Yocum.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to the Hope Network of Lac qui Parle County in memory of Ronald.
