Ronald Sears, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, August 22, 1999 in Montevideo at the age of 32.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, August 27, 1999 at 1:30 PM at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke officiating. Burial was in the Strombeck Lutheran Cemetery.
Ronald Eugene Sears was born on November 17, 1966 in Fridley, MN to Donald and Ruby (Clark) Sears. He was baptized in Sandstone, MN and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He attended Sandstone High School and served in the US Navy. He worked on construction and did general labor. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, the NRA and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. He enjoyed outside activities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing and being with his dog. He collected ducks and enjoyed spending time with his family and his precious daughter.
He is survived by one daughter, Jessica Sears of Montevideo; his mother and stepfather: Ruby and Perry Flickinger of Montevideo; his father, Donald C. Sears of Sandstone, MN; one brother, Donald Sears of Montevideo; three sisters: Sheryl Howard and Barb Johnson of Montevideo and Lorie Schmidt of Gary, SD; one step-brother, Danny Vick; one step-sister, Linda Vick; as well as by 16 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his stepmother, Delores Sears who died the day following Ron’s death
