Ronald Wollschlager, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 75. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Ronald Louis Wollschlager was born on April 23, 1935 in Grace Township of Chippewa County, MN to Erick and Alma (Flueter) Wollschlager. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Air Force. On September 17, 1966, he was united in marriage to Connie Kurtzbein at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He worked as a partsman and was owner of R & D Auto Supply until selling and retiring in 1990. He worked for the next 15 years escorting the delivery of trailer houses. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He was a pitman and liked auto racing, loved camping, going to the Black Hills, loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and going for rides. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; three sons: Brian (and wife Stacey) of North Branch, MN, Eric (and friend Brenda Erickson) of Montevideo and Paul (and wife Amanda) of Montevideo; three grandchildren: Lauren, Kyle and Brooke Wollschlager; two sisters: Clara Kingsbeck and Margaret Wollschlager of Minneapolis; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by two brothers: Victor and Morris Wollschlager; and a nephew, Thomas Wollschlager.
