Ronnie Olson, 56, of Watson, died July 30, 1996 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 2, 1996 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Leo Deitemeyer officiated and interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Watson.
Visitation was held Thursday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.
Ronald Dean Olson was born June 25, 1940 in Chippewa County, MN the son of U.S. "Pat" and Alice (Teigen) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1958. Ronnie was united in marriage with Deanna Gose July 8, 1961 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sparta Township. They made their home in Watson where he was an owner and operator of the Watson Truck Line with his dad for 28 years. He had a lifelong interest and involvement with horses and western life. He was a member of the MN Permit Truckers Association, Chippewa County Fair Board, and the Watson Lions.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna; two children: Elizabeth Baker and her husband John of Appleton and Charles Olson and special friend Tina Hagmeier of Montevideo; two grandsons: Jonathan Olson and Bill Hagmeier; four sisters: Trish and Jim Akre of Old Town, ID, Nancy and Dick Ryman of Montevideo, Lorna and John Hendrick of Coon Rapids, MN, and Kylene Olson of Watson, MN; one brother, Jon and Kristine Olson of Austin, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant son - Ronald Dean, Jr.; and an infant brother.
The family prefers memorials in leu of flowers.
