Roscoe Berg, of Willmar and formerly of Dawson, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his home in Willmar at the age of 75.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Baxter. Pastor Willie Rosin will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday for one hour before the services at the church.
Roscoe Dale Berg was born November 15, 1937 in Baxter Township of Lac qui Parle County, MN the son of Ludvig and Gina (Home) Berg. He was baptized January 1, 1938 and confirmed June 3, 1951 at Baxter Lutheran Church. He attended rural school in Dist 8 and Dist 1. Roscoe was united in marriage with Sara Jane Johnson in July of 1958 at Park River, ND. They made their home on a farm near Dawson. Sara Jane and their son Eldon were killed in an accident in June of 1961. Roscoe worked as a farmer, a truck driver and doing maintenance for the City of Willmar for over 20 years. He moved to Willmar in the early 1980's. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and woodworking.
He is survived by his daughter, Valerie (Tom) Adams of Kasota, MN; two grandchildren: Amy (Mike) Linde and Kimberly Adams; four great-grandchildren: Khloe, Cole, Jakob, and Ryan; a brother, Thor (Ardyce) Berg of Dawson; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Sara Jane; a son, Eldon; a brother, Lloyd Berg; and a sister, Gudrun “Toots” Olson.
