Rose Olson of Montevideo died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 97.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 4 at 1:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home with Pastor Donald S. McKee officiating. Visitation will be held for 1 hour before the services and burial will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Rose Lavern (Fossum) Olson was born March 21, 1915 in rural Wegdahl, MN the daughter of Ole and Mary (Erickson) Fossum. She was baptized May 9, 1915 and confirmed October 7, 1928 at Saron Lutheran Church. Rose attended rural school in District 15 near Wegdahl. She was united in marriage with Albert Olson May 10, 1936 at Our Saviors Lutheran Parsonage in Montevideo. She worked in the kitchen at the schools in Montevideo. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and she enjoyed flowers, puzzles, and crocheting. Rose loved music and could play the piano by ear.
She is survived by a son, Ronald and his wife Shirley of Parkers Prairie, MN; grandchildren: Jeremy, Ronda, Shanon and Amanda; great-grandchildren: Gabrial, Keanna, Xander and Landon; a sister-in-law, Ruby Olson of Montevideo, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Albert March 29, 1993; six brothers: Harry, Walter, Joe, Orvin, Thurman, and Bennie; and three sisters: Myrtle, Lilly, and Bernice.
