Roy Huot, of Dawson, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at the age of 49.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Rev. Kendall Stelter officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with a prayer service starting at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Roy Edward Huot, Jr. was born on January 6, 1969 in Crookston, MN to Roy and Barbara (Harbott) Huot. He attended Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls and graduated in 1987. Following high school, he attended North Dakota State University. Roy was united in marriage to Chutima (Carlson) on August 26, 1989 in Madison. They lived in the metro area for a while before relocating to Dawson in 1995.
Roy worked as a Sales Representative for John Deere in Madison. He was an avid fan of the Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks and Southwest Minnesota Mustangs and enjoyed attending numerous football and basketball games, as well as coaching basketball. Roy loved his family and spending time with them, he will be dearly missed.
Roy is survived by his wife, Chutima, Dawson; children: Courtney (Colin) Bergeson, Dawson and Nathaniel Huot, Edina; grandchildren: Brooklyn and Briella; father, Roy, Grand Forks; parents-in-law; Graylen (Yupa) Carlson, Madison; brothers: Don (Mary Lou), Cold Spring, Mike (Lynn), Grand Forks, Steve (Rhonda), East Grand Forks and Rod (Michelle Olson), Thompson, ND; sisters: Deb (Colleen Thompson) Huot, Crookston, Diane (Al) Shervold, Grand Forks, Kathy Huot, Moorhead and Marcie Huot, Leesburg, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his brother, David.
