Ruby Alley, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 91.  Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 28, 2007   at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to services at the church.

Ruby Sophia Alley was born on January 19, 1916 in Havelock Township of Chippewa Co., MN to William and Lottie (Norman) Alley.  She was baptized and confirmed at Rosewood United Methodist Church and attended rural schools.  She was a long-time member of the Rosewood United Methodist Church, where she served on various boards and committees.  Currently she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.  She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Fiesta Flora Society.  She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, and had a beautiful garden on 11th St. that was enjoyed by all that passed by. She was also well known for her crocheted pot holders, handwork and knit caps for Missions. She also enjoyed  reading, traveling working with stained glass and especially her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by nephews Orville Alley of Seattle, WA, Calvin (and Mary) Alley of Milaca, MN and Clinton (and Sandy) Alley of Boise, ID; great nieces and nephews: John (and Sue) Alley of Canby, MN, Kathy (and Rodney) Myers of Princeton, MN, Melody Anne (and Jim) Schram of Echo, MN, Robert (and Annette) Alley of Princeton, MN; great- great nephews and nieces: Lee (and Samantha) Alley of Princeton, MN, Maria, Nicole and Jackie Myers of Princeton, MN, Brandon (and Sharla) Alley of Cambridge, MN, Ashley (and Mark) Alley of Dunlap, IL, Allen and Angela Alley of Princeton, MN; great - great- great nephews and niece: Anika and Chase Alley of Princeton, MN, and Ryan Alley of Cambridge and a special friend, Barbara Larson of Montevideo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Orville, Henry and Lloyd Alley and by two sisters: Helen Alley and Alice Rue.
