Rudolph Johnson died November 13, 2002 at Bandon, OR at the age of 86.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo. Rev. Gregory Gabriel will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5 - 7 PM with the family at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Rudolph Johnson was born March 13, 1916 in Montevideo, MN to Oloff and Regina (Swenson) Johnson, one of 13 children. He met and married Gladys Nokleby and lived in Minnesota for several years. They moved to Oregon in the early 1940's and settled in the Salem, OR area during World War II. They then moved to Bandon where Rudy worked as carpenter, mason, cranberry farmer, tree farmer, and rancher. He later retired as a longshoreman after 30 years. He continued ranching and enjoying time with his family until the time of his death.
He is survived by his children: Ronald Johnson of Bandon, OR, Jerome Johnson and his wife Danielle of Bandon, OR, Larry Johnson and his wife Lynn of Bandon, OR, Debra Stewart of Bandon, OR, and Mary Lou Lakey of Bandon, OR; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by extensive family in Minnesota, California, and New Mexico.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Gladys; son, Lowell; daughter, Diana; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
