Russell Hoff

Russell Hoff, formerly of Watson, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at his home in Redwood Falls at the age of 81.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Watson Lutheran  Church in Watson with Vicar Linda Estling officiating. Interment will be at Watson Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26 from 5-7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.  Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Russell Allen Hoff was born February 21, 1935 at Montevideo, MN the son of Lauritz and Alvina (Hagen) Hoff.  He was baptized at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Baxter in 1936 and confirmed at Watson Lutheran Church in 1950.  Russ attended school in Watson and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1954.  He served in the US Army from 1958 until his discharge in 1964.  On November 16, 1960, he was united in marriage to Kay Erlandson at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  After a short stay in Montevideo, they moved to Watson, MN, where they lived for about 20 years.  In 1980 they moved to their farm in rural Montevideo.  He loved farming.  Russ was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the Farmers Union and served on the Watson Fire Dept. for 30 years.   He enjoyed going to auctions, antiques and was an avid Minnesota sports fan.  Kay died January 2, 2007.  Russ continued to live on the farm and had his big auction August 13, 2011.  He had been living in Redwood Falls the past several years.

He is survived by three children: Barbara Ward and her friend Larry of Montevideo, Julie Salitros and her husband Christopher of Andover, MN and Trisha Kraemer and her husband Jason of Melrose, MN; four grandchildren: Cayman and Tiera Salitros and Avery and Maddison Kraemer; special friend, Beverly Kissner; and niece, Jean (Philip) Quigley and nephew, Wayne (Jonell) Hoff.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Kay in 2007; a son Mark in 1974; son-in-law, Dennis Ward. in 2007; four brothers: Alvin, Olpher, Sidney and Leslie Hoff; and a sister, Helga Hoff.
