Ruth Marie (Mccoy) Cushman

Ruth Marie Cushman, formerly of Watson, died on Sunday, October 20, 2002 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 81.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Watson Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Ruth Marie (McCoy) Cushman was born on September 2, 1921 in Terrell, IA to Orph and Era (Lown) McCoy. She grew up in Dickins, Langdon and Terrill, IA, graduating from Terrill High School in 1939.  On October 21, 1939 she was united in marriage to Darrell Cushman in South Sioux City, NB.  They lived in Terrill, IA, and Boyd and Milan, MN before moving to Watson, MN, where she lived for over 30 years.  She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past 3 years.  She was a member of the Watson Lutheran Church and VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed latchhook, making braided rugs and reading.
She is survived by 4 children: Larry Cushman and his wife Siri of Forest Lake, MN; Sheryl Maus and her husband Francis of Montevideo; Jolene Phillips and her husband Thomas of Park Rapids, MN; and Timothy Cushman of Montevideo; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Delbert McCoy and his wife Carol of Storm Lake, IA; 3 sisters: Colleen Olson and her husband Roger of Hanley Falls, MN; Lucille Rose and her husband Frank of Spencer, IA and Judy Van Dorp and her husband Andrew of West Fargo, ND; 2 sisters-in- law, Shirley and Dorothy; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Darrell in 1975 and by brothers, Leland, Dale, Duane and Kenneth McCoy.
