Ruth Anderson was born April 25, 1907, at Madison, MN, to parents Andrew and Lenora (Quass) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Ness Lutheran Church in Madison. She attended rural school and graduated from Madison High School in 1924 and Teachers Training in 1925. She taught in rural schools until 1958, when she started teaching first grade in Dawson. During these years she furthered her education at St. Cloud Teachers College. In 1973, she retired from regular teaching, but in 1974, started teaching Early Childhood students, which she did for eleven years.
On August 23, 1936, Ruth was united in marriage to Manford Dale. They farmed until retiring in 1969, when they moved into Dawson.
Ruth was active in Grace Lutheran Church activities, including Sunday School, choir, circles, and WELCA.
Ruth died on Wednesday, September 22, 1999, at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 92.
She is survived by her sister, Mildred Dale of Dawson; five nephews and six nieces; three sisters-in-law: Bessie Dale, Helen Dale, and Agnes Sorkness; other family and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mannie; sisters: Lillian Reins, Emma Swenson, Henrietta Sargent, Judith Anderson, Beulah Kirby, Mabel Anderson, and Ann Willis; and her brother, Arthur Anderson.
