Ruth Moseng was born August 4, 1917, in Camp Release Twp., Lac Qui Parle Co., to Walter I. and Odessa (Winslow) Beaty. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended country school through the eight grade.
Ruth was married to Edwin S. Moseng on October 2, 1940, at the Antelope Hills Church of Christ, rural Canby. To this union, Joanne was born.
They farmed in the rural Dawson area and moved into the Riverside Manor Apartments in Dawson in 1985. She later lived for two years at Circle B in Madison, and for the last two years at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson. Ruth died on Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 83.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne (Lester) Nelson of Madison; 4 grandchildren: Betty (Eddie) Caldwell of Marshall, Donna (Bob) Rickert of Murdock, David Nelson of Montevideo, and Bruce (Kim) Nelson of Marshall; 10 great-grandchildren: Amanda, Danica, and Jocelyn Caldwell, Ben, Tim, Heather, and Kendra Rickert, and Justin, Danielle, and Haley Nelson; sister, Helen Ford of Montevideo; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin on April 14, 1987; 2 brothers: Willard and Wallace Beaty; and 2 sisters: Lucille Laubach and Iona Nordaune.
She was active in the Ladies Aide of the Dawson Covenant Church and liked baking, flowers, gardening, bingo, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
