Ruth Torgerson, 92, of Montevideo, died July 26, 1999 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 28, 1999 at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Watson. Rev. Larry Olson will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before services on Wednesday.
Ruth (Bromstad) Torgerson was born July 23, 1907 at Milan, MN the daughter of Andrew and Louise (Lyders) Bromstad. She attended school at Milan and later had Normal Training in St. Cloud. She taught school at Watson. She was united in marriage with Roy Torgerson June 11, 1943 at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan. They farmed in Chippewa County until, moving into Watson in 1977. Roy died June 29, 1985. Ruth moved into Brookside Manor in Montevideo in 1985 and later to Luther Haven Nursing Home in October of 1998. She was active with her friends at Brookside Manor.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Angeline Bromstad of Grand Rapids, MN and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Roy; two brothers: Edger and Winfred Bromstad; and two sisters: Anges Kanten and Marion Botenhaf.
