Ruth Olson, formerly of Montevideo, died on Friday, January 15, 1999 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 89.
Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, January 25, 1999 at 1:00 PM at the Johnson Memorial Home Chapel in Dawson with Rev. Paul Welander officiating. Burial will take place later this spring at Geneva Woods Cemetery near Alexandria, MN.
Ruth Viola (Foss) Olson was born on January 15, 1910 in Amboy, MN to Frank and Rosy (Weinhiemer) Foss. She grew up in St. Cloud, MN and graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School. On July 4, 1930 she was united in marriage to Talcott Olson in St. Cloud, MN. They lived in St Cloud & Alexandria, MN and Pueblo, CO for about 45 years before moving to Brookside Manor in Montevideo in 1989. She became a resident of the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson in September of 1994. She was an accomplished artist and was employed by a photographer to tint pictures. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Montevideo.
She is survived by a sister - Mildred Krieg of Napa, CA; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Talcott in 1995, and by 3 sisters - Lillian Scheel, Echo Hackett and Inez Hackett.
