Ryan Gilbertson, of Montevideo, died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Chippewa - County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 41 as the result of a snowmobile accident.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Pastor Donald S. McKee will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17 from 5-7:00 PM Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
Ryan Mark Gilbertson was born December 19, 1972 in Montevideo, MN to Ron and Debbie (Boike) Gilbertson. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo Senior High in 1991. Ryan attended NDSU and Mankato State University. He purchased his farm site in 1994 after moving back to Montevideo. He worked in the construction business with his father and together they operated Gilbertson Inc., Gilbertson Properties, and RG Inc. He was united in marriage with Susan (Brovold) Rodeberg December 31, 1999 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. God gifted him with a creative mind that allowed him to turn his visions into reality. Ryan had a great love for animals, the outdoors, music and especially loved spending time with his family at the lake. His world revolved around his family and friends, he was especially proud of his children.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; his children: Garret (special friend Dani) Rodeberg of Fargo, Leah (special friend Jordan) Rodeberg of Montevideo, and Paige Gilbertson of Montevideo; a grandson, Elijah; his parents: Ron Gilbertson and Debbie Dahl of Montevideo; a brother, Dustin (Kelly) Gilbertson of Apple Valley; a sister, Tricia (Cole) Montgomery of Richfield; grandparents: Elmer and Dorothy Boike of Montevideo and Eleanor Gilbertson of Montevideo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Hannah Gilbertson; grandfather, Roy Gilbertson; Father and Mother-in law: David and Shirley Brovold; and an aunt, Nancy Ashburn.
