Sally (Olson) Macziewski

May 21, 1927 — October 22, 2012

Sally Macziewski, of Montevideo, died on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Chippewa County -Montevideo Hospital at the age of 85.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Chris Liske officiating.  Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. and with a prayer service at 6:45 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home.

Rosella  Mae  "Sally" (Olson) Macziewski was born on May 21, 1927   to Simon and Emma (Gimmestad)   Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, attended rural schools and graduated from Montevideo High School.  On November 18, 1945 she was united in marriage with Elroy Macziewski at Jevnaker Lutheran Church.  They made their home and farmed for many years in Chippewa County before moving into Montevideo in the early 1960's. She was an owner/operator of a bus service until selling it in 1998 and continued driving bus for several more years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was an active member in various activities.  She was also an active member of the VFW Auxiliary.  She loved to garden and raise flowers, spend time at the lake and do volunteer work.  She especially enjoyed being with family and phone calls from them.

She is survived by four children: Judy (and Alvin) Gronewold of Montevideo, MN, Eugene (and Mary) Macziewski of Fargo, ND, David (and Sandy) Macziewski of Montevideo, MN, and Lonny Macziewski of Elk River, MN; eight grandchildren: Jeff and Brian (Tanya) Gronewold, Scott (and Tabitha) Macziewski, Sara (and Jared) Koch, and Stacy (and Jeff) Mynatt, and Josh (and Amanda) Macziewski,  Nathan (and Lynne) Macziewski, and Kelly Macziewski; twelve great-grandchildren: Brittany, Ashton and Ella Rose Gronewold; Megan, Grace and Jack Macziewski, Macin Barron; Brayden, Kylie and Makenna Koch; Natalie Mynatt and Rick Macziewski;  sisters-in-law: Evelyn Eddy of Montevideo, MN and Shirley Prizgen of Florida;and a brother-in-law, Jim Thoma of Clara City, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elroy in 1998 and a brother, Stanley Olson.
