Selmer Storlien, 58, of Milan, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at his home in Milan, MN.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2001 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Warren Broughton will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo.
Visitation will be held Friday, afternoon and evening at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.
Selmer Storlien was born July 26, 1943 at Riverside Township, Lac Qui Parle County, MN the son of John and Amanda (Arneson) Storlien. He was baptized and confirmed at Borgund Lutheran Church and he attended rural school in District 9. Selmer was united in marriage to Darlene Peterson and to this union were born 2 children, Darla and Daniel. He was united in marriage to Mona Christenson August 13, 1979 at Watertown, SD. They lived in Watson, Clarkfield, and Dawson before moving to Milan. He had worked as a farm hand for Richard Christopherson, Gary Sonstegard and Stanley Jacobson. Selmer had worked as a tiler for Larson Tiling the last seven years. He enjoyed working on cars. He also loved to help his neighbors and friends mow lawn or shovel their sidewalks.
He is survived by his wife, Mona; two children: Darla Storlien of Lynd, MN and Daniel (Stephanie) Storlien of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren: Joshua Storlien, Jordan Lanners, Brittney, Kelsey, and Cy Storlien; three brothers: Orgean (Marian) Storlien of Dawson, MN, Stanley Storlien of Dawson, MN, and Stanford (Agie) Storlien of Sultan, WA; one sister, Grace (Marvin) Agre of Dawson, MN and a sister-in-law, Shirley Storlien of Dawson, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Milton Storlien; and two sisters: Evelyn Storlien and Alice Ulrich.
