Seymour Charnstrom died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his home in Montevideo at the age of 90. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7:00 P.M. Seymour Harland Charnstrom was born on October 26, 1920, at Montevideo, Minnesota to Clarence and Agnes (Norman) Charnstrom. He died at the age of 90 at his home in Montevideo on Sunday, February 13, 2011. Seymour was raised in rural Montevideo and attended rural school. He served in the US Army during World War II. Seymour farmed with his dad in rural Monte following his return from the service. His marriage to Lucille Kolstad took place June 17, 1945 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Following their marriage they began farming north of Montevideo. He later moved back to Monte and started working for the U.S. Post Office retiring in 1972. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and also the American Legion. He enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips, loved to garden, plant trees and cut down trees. Always willing to lend a helping hand to others no matter how big or small the task. Seymour was a true outdoorsman. Survived by wife, Lucille; daughter, Barbara and Nick Pease; grandchildren, Wendy and Todd, great grandchildren, Derek, Hannah and Hayley; sister, Norma and Jack Mills; nephews, Jeff and Mike Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gail; son, Gary; sister, Clarice Buchmann; brother, Lloyd; nephews, Brad and Paul.
