Shelby Lyngen, of Green Valley, AZ and formerly of Woodbury, MN, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at her home at the age of 75.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo, MN. Rev. Matt Philaya will officiate and interment will be at Strombeck Lutheran Cemetery, rural Montevideo.
Visitation will be held at the church for 1 hour before the services on Wednesday.
Shelby Jean (Setser) Lyngen was born December 10, 1938 at Greenville, TN to Joe and Bonnie Mae (Graham) Setser. She was baptized at First Baptist Church at Greenville, TN in 1950. She was later confirmed at St. Cloud, MN in 1976. Shelby graduated from Greenville High School in 1956 and went on to college at the University of Wisconsin. She served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1960. Shelby was united in marriage to Richard Lyngen on August 8, 1970 at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Together, they lived in Angeles City, Republic of Philippines, Colorado Springs, CO, Seattle, WA, Minneapolis, MN, Woodbury, MN, and moved to Green Valley, AZ in 2004. She enjoyed dancing, hunting, music, plays, traveling, theater, and fishing.
Shelby is survived by her two sons: Sean Lyngen of Minneapolis, MN and Ian Lyngen of New York, NY; four grandchildren: Elise, Emma, Evenell, and Wesley Lyngen of Minneapolis, MN; a brother: Charles Setser of Lincolnton, NC; and two sisters: Maggie Gibson of Round Lake Park, IL and Betty Lamb of Greenville, TN.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2010 and her parents.
