Shirley Arvilla (Anderson) Clark

Shirley Clark, of Montevideo, died on July 23, 2001 at her home in rural Montevideo at the age of 53.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 26, 2001 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening and with the family after 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Shirley Arvilla (Anderson) Clark was born on September 16, 1947 in Benson, MN to Bennie and L. Myrtle (Johnson) Anderson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1965.  On June 1, 1968 she was united in marriage to Dennis Clark at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church.  After a short time in Ortonville, MN, they made their home in the Montevideo area. She was a day care mother and worked at Luther Haven for awhile before she began driving school bus in 1982.  She was active in Clark Transportation and especially enjoyed driving special education children.  She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and a member of transportation groups - MSBOA and MAPT.  She enjoyed shopping, cooking, driving, reading, gardening, cats & dogs, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband - Dennis; by children; Denise Steinborn and her husband Mike; Roland Clark and his wife Jenny; DeWayne Clark and his wife Amanda and Brian Clark and special friend, Megan Redepenning, all of Montevideo; 6 grandchildren: ReNae and Rachel Clark; Tate and Lucas Steinborn; and Kirsten and Dominick Clark; 2 sisters - Carol Connelly and her husband Gary of Sandy, OR and Marlys Hoiland of Benson, MN as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and by a brother-in-law, Roger Hoiland..
