Shirley Gose of Clara City and formerly of Watson died on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Clara City at the age of 86.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Watson with Pastor Linda Estling officiating. Burial will be at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Sunday.
Shirley Mae Smith was born in Montevideo, MN on April 8, 1938 to Carl & Myrtle (Zielsdorf) Smith. She was baptized and confirmed at the Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church. She attended School Districts #56 and #43 and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1957. She was a foster child of Clarence and Celeste Dalen. Shirley was united in marriage to Ronald Gose on June 12, 1965 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Throughout her life, she lived in rural Watson, Montevideo, and Clara City.
Shirley worked hard and was very dedicated at every job she had. She sorted leather at the Carlson Doll Factory, was a custodian, maid, and did laundry at the Royal Inn, worked at Walmart, Luther Haven, Fiesta Hotel, and was the custodian at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included word finds, watching Twin Cities Live, and visiting with friends. She was a social butterfly and loved everyone at Prairie Park Place Assisted Living in Clara City. Shirley loved her cats and collected cat figurines. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Watson.
Shirley is survived by brothers, Carl Smith Jr. and Harold (Sunny) Smith; and sisters, Barbara Walsh, Carol Berry: nieces and nephews and special friend and extended family Kim Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald in 2015; her parents; and a sister, Marilyn Werner.
Blessed be her memory. She will be missed.
