Shirley Larson, (Mrs. Harold W. Larson), of St. Cloud, formerly of Dawson, died on Saturday morning, April 3, 2010, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, at the age of 84. Funeral mass was at 10:30 AM, Sat, April 10, at St. James Catholic Church with Father William Sprigler as the celebrant; Jon Wager sang "The Lords Prayer" and "May the Lord Bless and Keep You"; and organist, Joan Zaiser accompanied the singing of "Here I Am, Lord", "On Eagle's Wings" and "Only A Shadow." Grandson, Derrick was honorary and grandsons, Trevor, Brent, Devin, Chris, Nick and Nate were active casketbearers. Entombment was in Terrace Lawn Cemetery in rural Montevideo. Visitation was on Friday from 4-6 PM with a closing prayer service at 6 PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home. Shirley Arlyss Larson was born at General Hospital in Minneapolis, MN on March 10, 1926, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Kradler) Tuttle. She was baptized at St. Andrews Catholic Church. She attended and graduated from Wayzata High School. She worked at Munsingware Clothing and was also an elevator operator until she married Harold W. Larson on November 25, 1946. Shirley loved crafts and owned a hobby shop in Dawson, MN. She was an active parishioner at St. James Catholic Church, was a member of Catholic Aid for over 50 years, was a cub scout and girl scout leader and was part of the VFW auxilary for many years. She enjoyed camping, crafts, golf, dancing, cards and games. Above all, family was her life. She loved us more than words can tell. Her familiar smile, abundant humor, and loving ways will always be remembered. She lived for her family and was always there for them. She is survived by her son, Dale and wife, Diane (DeVries) of Camas, WA, and their children, Brent (and friend, Char), Tracy (Ryan) Zygar, and Ami; daughter, Bonnie and husband, Gary Wallingford of Platte City, MO, and their children, Camie, Leah (Jeff) Melsha, Erica (Bill) Heishman, Christy (Todd) Gair, and KateLynn (and friend, Tyler); daughter, Kathie Femrite of Thief River Falls, MN, and her children Juli Strand, Trevor, Derrick (Martha), and Jaime (Josh) Conway; daughter, Doreen Nelson (Mark Grundhoefer) of St. Cloud, MN, and her children Devin and Jessica, Jenni(and friend, Joe), Chris, Nick, Nate, Austin and Kiana. Twenty three great grandchildren (two on the way) one great, great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Harold on November 12, 1997; six brothers, James, Jack, Robert, George, Carl Tom, and Bill Tuttle; three sisters, Virginia Tuttle, Marion Dahl, and Dorothy Tuttle; and one grandchild, Darin Leigh Nelson.
