Stella Goulson, of Montevideo, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Home Front First in Montevideo at the age of 101.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March17, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for one hour before the services at the church. Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Stella Louise (Lyngen) Goulson was born October 30, 1914 in Chippewa County on the home farm north of Watson to Peter and Dorthea (Stensrud) Lyngen. She was baptized December 27, 1914 and confirmed November 3, 1929 at Watson Lutheran Church. Stella attended rural school and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1933. On July 15, 1951 she was united in marriage with Theodore Goulson at her family home in Watson. This union lasted fro 52 years with the passing of her husband in 2003. Stella worked at the Bungalo Eat Shop for many years and was well known for her good cooking, baking, and pleasant smile. She liked to crochet, embroider, sew, bake, and make lefse. She was active in Our Saviors Lutheran Ladies Circle and helped serve on many occasions. Stella was a longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She had lived at Home Front First for the past six years.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families; a brother-in-law, Roger (Jeane) Goulson; and sister-in-law, Leona (Edmond) Lyngen.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Ted on October 5, 2003; two sisters: Alvina and Verna; four brothers: Lloyd, Palmer, Edmond, and Walter; and two nephews: Richard Lyngen and Gaylen Finsaas.
