Stephen Flickinger, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 74.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Stephen Michael Flickinger was born on October 14, 1939 to Walter and Marcia (Steffen) Flickinger in Raymond, MN. He lived in Montevideo for many years and later moved to Maryland. He moved back to Montevideo in the late 1980's. He loved being a horticulturist and worked at Heather Nursery & Floral in Montevideo. He also worked in manufacturing at Micro Dynamics. He loved music and animals and always had a St. Bernard by his side. Stephen’s best attribute was that he was always very positive and optimistic. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by three children: Kiley (Joanne Heinzman) Flickinger of Athens, OH, Ross Flickinger of Hutchinson, MN, and Delano (Kathy O’Brien) Flickinger of LeSueur, MN; two grandchildren: Heather Flickinger and Matthew Erickson; brothers: Jay (Helen) Flickinger of Farwell, MN, Howard (Linda) Flickinger of Montevideo, MN, and Perry (Ruby) Flickinger of Montevideo, MN; sisters: Sandra (Gene) Sulflow of Montevideo, MN and Carmen (DuWayne) Rickert of Montevideo, MN; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Alice Flickinger; and by an infant brother and sister.
