Steven Rogers, formerly of Montevideo and the son of Toni Rogers and the late Tom Rogers, died on Friday, November 8, 2002 in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 50.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 14, 2002 at 2:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday prior to services at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Steven Ashley Rogers was born November 27, 1951 at Fairmont, MN the son of James “Tom” and Edna Mae "Toni" (Manley) Rogers. He attended school in Armstrong, IA until the 7th grade when the family moved to Montevideo, MN. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1970. He was a very good wrestler, which he continued with at Willmar Junior College. He moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1975 where he became a master carpenter. He loved working with wood, going to flea markets, and making semi-precious jewelry.
He is survived by his mother, Toni Rogers of Cloquet, MN; one stepson, Hollis Harvey of Salt Lake City, UT; five brothers and sisters: Donna Rogers-Van Overbeke and her husband Lee of Chisholm, MN, David Rogers and his wife Karen of Elk River, MN, James Rogers and his wife Brenda of Cloquet, MN, John Rogers of Louisburg, MN, and Beverly Christopherson and her husband Ron of Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews: Caleb, Amanda, Alaina, Daisha, Marissa, Elissa, Rebecca, Thomas, Jason, Katie, and Cassie; and numerous friends in Salt Lake City and Montevideo.
Preceding him in death were his father, Tom Rogers and one step-son, Todd Harvey.
