Susan Myers, of Montevideo and formerly of Dawson, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Home Front First in Montevideo at the age of 60.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson. Pastor Erik Carlson will officiate and interment will be at Dawson Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour before the services at the funeral home.
Loretta Susan (Ashling) Myers was born May 11, 1953 at Dawson, MN the daughter of Loren and Claire (Fousek) Ashling. She graduated from Dawson - Boyd High School in 1971 and later attended Willmar Vo-Tech. Susan was united in marriage with Douglas Myers December 30, 1972. They made their home in Ortonville and Morris before moving to Dawson in 1979. They lived in Alexandria for a few years in the early 2000's before moving back to the Dawson area. She enjoyed writing poetry, corresponding with pen pals, spending time at the lake, and especially loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas; two sons: Shane (Heather) Myers of Dawson and Jesse (Jennifer) Myers of Appleton; six grandchildren: Abbygail, Megan, Ethan, Mitchell, Gage, and Cameron; her mother, Claire Ashling of Dawson; a brother, Lannie (Brenda) Ashling of Dawson; a sister, Cindy Ashling of Dawson; and a sister-in-law, Diane Ashling of Montevideo.
Preceding her in death were her father, Loren and two brothers: Larry and Gary Ashling.
