Sylvia Hacker, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Mn at the age of 95. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Sylvia (Molden) Hacker was born on February 16, 1917 in rural Watson, MN to Eddy and Clara (Hanson) Molden. She grew up in the rural Watson area and graduated from Montevideo High School. She attended Normal Training in Montevideo and taught in rural schools for two years. On June 19, 1938 she was united in marriage to Henry W. Hacker in Watson, MN. They farmed in the Montevideo area for many years. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was involved with women's church groups She enjoyed card playing, bowling, going out for coffee, cooking, baking, dancing, and music. She also enjoyed traveling, politics, collecting recipes, learning new things and planned and designed her home. She is survived by four children: Clara Aly of Pasadena, CA; Henry E. Hacker of Hopkins, MN; Betty (and Charlie) Harguth of Maynard, MN and Paul Hacker of Montevideo; grandchildren: Rhonda (Harguth) Helm, Vincent Harguth, Abigail Hacker and Henry P. Hacker; great grandchildren: Jennessa and Makayla Helm and KaiteLynn, Jessica and Andrew Harguth; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry in 1993, and by two sisters, Margaret Christensen and Olga Hilden.
